Stone Brewing Company: 11 Years & Brewing Strong
When Greg Koch and Steve Wagner opened Stone Brewing in 1996, they didn't know they weren't supposed to be able to brew big, aggressive beers and succeed. That's lucky for them, and lucky for all of us out there who enjoy their beers. 11 years and countless awards later, Stone is one of the most respected craft brewers in the nation. With the recent opening of the Stone World Bistro and Gardens, there's no better time to take a trip to the birthplace of such classics as Arrogant Bastard Ale, Stone Imperial Russian Stout, and Ruination IPA. TLB visited Stone for the 11th Anniversary Celebration, where we caught up with CEO/Co-Founder Greg Koch, learned that some great beer does come in cans, and tried our best to avoid third-degree burns from flying onion ring batter.
